Under the direction of its namesake designer, Imane Ayissi, since its creation in the 1990s, the fashion house offers timeless creations with chic and elegant allure, for strong and bold women. Internationally recognized for its innovative designs and unique approach to luxury, the fashion house has established itself as a leading name on the Parisian fashion scene.

Through the skilled hands of a master craftsman and meticulous attention to detail, each creation from Maison Imane Ayissi Couture is born from a dialogue between tradition and modernity, the fruit of true, rare, and authentic luxury. Each year, we travel across the African continent to draw inspiration for creating ever more innovative collections. These collections include:

natural fibers sourced directly from artisans, guardians of ancestral traditions
weaving techniques passed down from generation to generation
plant-based dyes creating unique shades
embroidery created using age-old methods

The designer

Imane Ayissi was born in Cameroon into a family of artists and sportsmen. While starting a career as a dancer with the National Ballet of Cameroon, he also became involved in fashion – a passion born from his mother being Miss Cameroon – and became a stylist for the largest ready-to-wear manufacturing workshop in the country.

For several years, he collaborated with renowned choreographers and international artists, such as Patrick Dupont, whose tours and shows took him to the four corners of the world. At the same time, he continued to design dresses in his own country.

He moved to Paris in the early 90s. He began a modeling career and walked the runway for the biggest luxury brands (Dior, Lanvin, YSL, Valentino, Givenchy, Cardin, Montana…) as well as participating in advertising campaigns and numerous fashion editorials.

It was at this time that he decided to devote himself fully to his work as a couturier.

Since 2020, he has presented his collections twice a year during Haute Couture week in Paris, invited by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and announced in the official calendar.

Imane Ayissi draws her daily inspiration from the rich ancestral heritage that abounds on the African continent.
